Chasewater Swan
I was up early and had time to visit a local reservoir to check on water levels after the recent news coverage of low levels across the country. Admittedly, Chasewater Reservoir is not used to supply water, rather it is a balancing reservoir for the local canal network, but there was hardly any change in levels since I visited for the Ironman a couple of months ago.
Sunrise is now an hour later than in June, so the warmth in the sun was still present. There were a couple of great crested grebe chicks vocalising nearby, but too far to get a reasonable image. Instead I was taken by this swan, which I was able to frame with the shrubs that have grown up around a path to a small castle structure at the edge of the reservoir. Apparently, it is dangerous and signs are up saying no entry.
