Which Way is the Wind Blowing?

I check the weather every morning online.  There are so many technologies connected with weather forecasting now, computer models and satellites.  But back in the day, weathervanes were the way most people tried to forecast the weather.  Oh, and the Old Farmer's Almanac too.  People say they can smell rain coming and I guess there is some scientific support for that.  I know I can smell snow coming.  No fear of that now.  A nice string of weather coming and I am happy with that.  Extra is a "low tech" weather station I found amusing.
