The ship, Pacific Explorer, arrived in the Waitemata Harbour on a glorious sunny morning and was greeted by the new electric tug, Sparky, spraying water into the air. The ship had a big banner at the front emblazoned with the words “Kia Ora New Zealand”. It did look rather splendid in the sunshine.
We had a domestic morning, then I went to my Pilates class and afterwards we put up the open home signs for the weekend. We spent an hour with Mum then came home for a FaceTime chat with friends in Sweden. It was so good to see them.
Today’s blip shows the Pacific Explorer arriving this morning.
There are 4,126 new community cases today, and the seven-day rolling average is 4,581 compared to 5,812 last Friday. The number of people in hospital is 549, including 16 in ICU. 1,733 deaths have been confirmed as either directly attributed to Covid, or with Covid as a contributing factor.
