When heads roll

This is Hera, the Greek goddess of marriage. Many years ago, my husband and I bought it at the Edinburgh College of Art degree exhibition, as a wedding gift to ourselves.

Not long after, a painter and decorator working in our flat accidentally knocked off her head. Supressing fears of this being an ill omen, we stuck her head back on with glue. We all survived.
