The green leaves of summer

Another dry day with lots of sunshine. I went down town this morning for one or two things and did a lot of chatting, but didn't really see anything worth Blipping - particularly as I was in the car! A friend came while I was out and brought me a Sprekelia formosissima, a somewhat tender bulb from Southern Mexico and Guatemala, previously known as an Amaryllis and Hippeastrum, now apparently known as Zephranthes. I'm sticking with Sprekelia!

Another afternoon in the garden - same old, same old. Weeding mostly.
I've been given some seed of Rhabdothamnus solandri, a beautiful gesneriad from New Zealand which I grew many years ago, so I've sowed that in a number of pots and hope that I manage to germinate some.

My Blip today is looking up through the foliage of Schefflera rhododendrifolia, an araliad from NE India and similar places. It's quite hardy in most places, except maybe in the very coldest, and I love its unusual foliage.
