View from the car park
We woke up to see a temperature inversion above Grasmere this morning. It didn’t last for long.
We were orienteering on Threlkeld Knotts today. This was the view of Blencathra from the car park this morning.
200m of climb to get to the start. Following the efforts of yesterday there was not a lot of bounce in my legs! Struggled with the rocky terrain with my creaky knees. Couldn’t decide which was worst the ups or the downs. However the views were wonderful. Met Cathy a club member competing in W80. Hats off to her for completing her course. It’s so easy to give up but we both agreed it is good to challenge yourself both mentally and physically.
The extras are Gentleman’s Pond, the temperature inversion this morning, view of Skiddaw and a pine cone to finish
Shorter courses tomorrow and then a rest day.
