Sally Mair - Loving life

Quackery

Sunday today so church this morning. ̶A̶s̶c̶e̶n̶s̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶D̶a̶y̶ the Feast of the Transfiguration was celebrated today, moved from yesterday. A couple of hymns which were new to me, and hard work. I was glad I had my music copy with me which I picked up at the last minute.
After church, we had coffee as usual. I had to excuse myself past two ladies who were chatting away at the church door. We must be doing something right, one was Russian the other Ukrainian. My heart did a little gulp.
I was in my way across the car park when the older of the two Ukrainian girls, who is 8, just the same as Eilidh, came hurtling towards me and gave me a huge hug, completely out of the blue. It felt wonderful. Her little sister then came over and handed me one of the pea pods out of the garden which we had on the vegetable sales table. I guess they are starting to feel at home amongst us.
This afternoon I was tired. I went for a quick doze, but Ali came over so we went down to Craigleith. I revived for a while then went back to bed after she'd left.
I got up in time for dinner and to cheer on the other Laura Muir and Eilish McColgan, the other Scots did really well too. The medal total is amazing for such a small country.

The ducks are on the Water of Leith at Murrayfield where I had stopped hoping to see the Goosanders when I realised I had no photos today.
