Forth to Fife!

Given the improvement in weather forecast for today we decided to head across to Fife in time for lunch
Our destination was Lower Largo and we had a very pleasant wander along the beach in the warm sun and gentle warm breeze when we got there There were lots of seabirds around and the views back across to East Lothian were stunning. Such a change to the last few dreich, weeks. We walked as far as the Alexander Selkirk statue, the story of Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe was loosely based on his life.
We headed to the Crusoe Hotel for lunch and both had a delicious small portion of fish, (haddock as this is Scotland) and chips - with homemade tartare sauce, for me an essential part of the meal. My main blip is looking through the bar window, west towards Elie.
The hotel was recently taken over by the owners of the Bridge in Ratho and has been through a major refurbishment. The previous owner was jailed for major tax evasion a couple of years ago causing great scandal. We hadn't been since the new owners took over, and lunch was delicious.

When we got back to Edinburgh, I headed down to pick up the girls from after school club and take them home.
I put together a batch of bolognaise sauce and a cheese sauce while making tonight's dinner and afterwards made these into a couple of lasagnes. One for tomorrow and one to freeze. I don't often cook for Katy so it was nice to get the opportunity. I'm here till around 11pm as she is on call and Jon on back shift. It means there is somebody to stay with the girls if she has to go into the hospital. All quiet so far though.

Really enjoyed the changes in temperature today, long may it last
