We had to leave today, it has been a fantastic little chalet to stay in and perfect for bringing the dogs to, completely enclosed and secure.

Another glorious summers day that felt like it was going to be even hotter than yesterday so, rather than fight our way to a beach, we decided to go back to the woods at Hardy's birth place, walk around there, have an early lunch in the visitor's centre then drive back to mine.

During the walk we stopped at a bench for a drink and to admire the hot summer countryside. Throughout the wood are various willow figures, my favourite was brave badger, see extras.

After a lovely lunch we began the drive home which was quick and easy and soon we were back at mine sitting in the shade and relaxing.

Dinner was a yummy takeaway from the local restaurant then RF and the boys departed and the prospect of normal life returned.
