Die Zauberfloete

Stan(islaw) the decorator is still in the house. He was supposed to do the job in two days (Monday & Tuesday) but he hash finished yet so we start to look like "Murphy Brown". In order to escape fumes and smell we went out for some Regent Street shopping. Lunch at Brasserie Chavot, recently opened. Next to us some nice Bosnian expats. Food & ambience very good much nicer that Zedel & Delaney. Had snails and pork as main.
ROH in the evening, saw Die Zauberfloete. I think I haven't seen it live since I was child. Ekaterina Siurina as Pamina, Charles Castronovo as Tamino, Christopher Maltman as Papageno and superb Albina Shagimuratova as the Queen of the Night. Conducted by Julia Jones (first time I see woman as conductor in ROH). Great performance with excellent design and lightning.
Before bad watched Jack Reacher. Good but not great. And finally read excellent article on Garry Winogrand by Gerry Badger in April BJP. I don't remember reading anything so good that was recently published.
