La Pointe Courte
Seen LPC film by Agnès Varda in ICA. Photography is great, scenes are straight from Robert Doisneau book. After dinner with A & Y at Kettner's. Food mediocre, too noisy.
Played squash earlier in the day two friendlies, with CM (4:3) and lost 3:2 to Daniel. During lunch break managed to see half of this years Deutsche Boerse Photography Prize candidates at Photographers Gallery, Mischka Henner (No Man's Land) and Chris Killip (What Happened to Great Britain 1970-1990). MH work is fine but he is using Google View and although different than other people, it is not that exciting. CK is great discovery for me. Classical B&W photographer he was taking photos of Isle ofMan and north of England (mostly workers) communities. Shame that I have missed his work until now. Finally I bought some books in the bookstore CK book but also Freelander's Nudes and the newest book on Winogrand (accompanying
his SF retrospective)
