The Laughing Mermaid
I give you a laughing mermaid, stranded on shore in George Square about 3 1/2miles by road from the sea. With the photo can empty I was driven to confront the hordes on my doorstep for a blip. Finding a blip in Edinburgh at the moment is akin to fly fishing in a loch stocked with farmed fish.
Having done the business, I am about to clear up a spider’s web under my bathroom scales. The thought of standing on the latter since Covid struck and realising the enormity of my self indulgent comfort eating has been too much to cope with for too long and quite a big spider has had the temerity to make the underneath it’s home.
It would remain hidden all day but came from underneath to sit beside it at the same time every night as I was going to bed. I admit speaking to it but I issued a warning that if it rested too far from home it would get the tumbler and card treatment and be evicted to the garden. Last night it got too complacent and was unceremoniously carried outside to enjoy life en plein air but it has left a very messy home behind.
