One In 180,000
After trawling through hundreds of caterpillar images on Google I still couldn't be sure what exact species this little chap (chap-ess?) is. So it will henceforth be known as 'One In 180,000'. It is only around 1.5cm in length and was inching (or centimetring) its way along a handrail near the Obi Obi river.
I didn't realise it had a 'face' until I looked at my pics on the computer - and a strange double spiked tail. And it was only while looking up caterpillar info later that I learned quite a few Aussie catepillars can fire stinging liquid when they feel threatened. Phew!
