Joy
It was strongly suggested that I break up this weekends round trip to Dorset with an overnight stay. Given how knackered I already was on Friday, I caved. We booked a travel lodge. And I'm so glad we did. We've had an exhausting day but it had lots of gorgeous. Getting up and out was a little stressful and she's still yo-yoing with her emotions after a huge week. But we had a fun journey together, introducing her to some classic songs she has missing from her musical education - as well as belting out some of our favourites. We had a wonderful time exploring Coughton Court. We had a picnic, wandered the House and churches, picked plums. The next leg of the journey south was a bit busier but we arrived to Burnham on Sea fine. A second picnic for tea and some fun on the sand. We were a bit disappointed to discover the mud meant we couldn't go in the sea but Katie got a lot of joy running down the sand banks. Both of us flagged early evening so we headed to the hotel, which we discovered was really nice and had possibly the best shower I've had! Home Alone 2 was on the TV so we settled down in jammies with a cuppa and custard tarts, but katie asked to go to sleep at 8. Harry Potter audio book, lights low and I too was probably asleep not much after 9!
