Protection beams were erected last year on both sides of this railway bridge by Inverness harbour. High vehicles kept running into the bridge, and causing disruptions to the North line. As can be seen, this beam has had a few knocks and scrapes already. Likewise the one on the other side.
Very windy today. Had to walk most of the way across the Kessock bridge this evening, as the gusting wind was too hazardous. Walking wasn't easy either, and then the shoreline cycle through North Kessock was straight into that wind. A fair old battle...
Three firsts for this year's Summer migrants this morning - Willow Warbler heard singing (simple as it is,and repetitive, it's one of my favourite bird calls); two Swallows; and a House Martin were feeding along a sunny area of sheltered roadside gorse - out of that wind.
Two new cameras arrived at work today, for the Computing/Digital Media dept. Was most surprised to see one was an identical twin lens kit to the one I received yesterday (and used today). Certainly know how to set it up, and update the firmware etc. Likewise the other, which is a basic Nikon DSLR.
