A good day today, turned out a sniff over 50 miles according to the Cat-Eye. Rode some good gravel sections of the Peddars Way as well as some on road bits. The blip was taken on our way back from the beach car park where we found that neither the mobile food van nor the Beach Cafe were open. Probably 40 cars in the car park so plenty of potential customers. We went back to the White Horse pub and sat in the garden with a cold drink and a packet of crisps each while we worked out a return route without any off-road sections. This included Houghton Hall that the gov reckoned was National Trust. We gaily rode in evading the cash desk only to be told that we had to show our tickets before going to the tea rooms. ‘That’s alright ‘ said the pair of us, ‘We are NT members ‘.
‘This is a private residence ‘ came the reply.
She let us in on condition we left after having tea without visiting any of the attractions!
A fairly easy run back from there to Castle Acre. Home tomorrow.
