Sinnington
One of the joys of living in the countryside is having some wonderful villages to enjoy. We picked up Richard’s waterproof from Matthew. Brought away some eggs from Simon’s new chickens. They have some very brown speckled shells. Looking forward to trying them.
Called in to walk Jet at Sinnington. The main is of the 12th century church. A striking building originally gifted to a community of nuns. The extras show a 12th century manor which was given to Augustinian monks. The windows were a later addition. The village hall was once the school and the bridge was first mentioned in 1616 and thought to be part of a track through marshy ground to Pickering. As an additional photo I just liked this row of terrace cottages.
An historic dog walk today.
