By the kitchen door.
A very mixed day. We had an early service this morning (for us) as it was a United service bringing together all our Benefice churches which only happens when there is a fifth Sunday in the month.
A damp start to the day with a sudden very heavy shower just before I was about to walk up to church making me change my choice of shoes.
Nice to have a full church.
Still dampish on the way home but this afternoon there have been spells of sun during which it was quite hot. It was at one of these points I popped out to take these Lyes Unique fuchsias. We have three by the side of the house, next to the kitchen door, which Chris has grown, he describes them as ‘half standards’. Fuchsias are his ‘thing’.
I think they are a very pretty colour combination and a delicate shape.
It occurred to me then to take a look at the Buddleias in the back garden. There were two butterflies. A peacock at the top of the biggest bush and of course into the sun for a photo! On the smaller bush there was a white green streak (?) flitting about. Neither were well photographed. So not many but some and lots of bees!
The afternoon has now clouded up again.
The last day of July, August tomorrow. The start of the end of summer. Let’s hope the butterflies decide to make more appearances.
