Bluedot / Exit: The Minx's birthday
Up early to pack our bags and head back to Salford whence, after freshening up, we drove across to Maudsley for the interment of the Minx's grandmother's ashes.
The service was concise and all the better for that, I think; one can concentrate on the service and there were no moments where I could feel myself becoming distracted.
After that we went to a lunch at one of the Minx's aunts. I do like her family and it was nice to catch up with her brother and mum in particular, although her cousins are a good bunch, too.
As it was the Minx's birthday, we went out for dinner to celebrate, choosing Hawksmoor for the occasion. I haven't been before and I have to say I was hugely impressed, both by the food, which I had anticipated, and the serving staff, who were pretty much faultless.
