Cast Off

Rachel's friend called round to show us the shed exoskeleton of her tanantula. She was worried that her beloved Chilli wasn't going to manage to do this casting as she's over 30 years old. The friend had got her for a pet when she, herself, was 8.

I had no idea that spiders lived this long.

In other news, Daniel went for his orthopedic appointment today and, thankfully, had his plaster -cast taken off. He has been told to treat it very carefully for a while. It was good that I had a bit of gentle fun for them today in the form of sugarcraft flower making. They both enjoyed that. We had some shape-cutters but I showed them how to thin out the petal edges and then give them little twists to make them more realistic.
