I woke early feeling a great deal better than I had since Friday. I was certain that I was still Covid positive but decided to waste a test proving so. I wasn't wrong. I called the office to update them and to suggest a Teams meeting. They were thrilled at the suggestion and much scurrying about took place setting it up. Between 11 and 12 my mentor showed me approximately what my duties entail
- all completely new but very understandable.
I'm going to get this.
He offered to email me various files to play with at home but when I explained that the software I keep on my personal lap top is not a perfect match, there was a catch of disappointment.
I asked if there was a Working from Home laptop I could borrow from the office.
Well of course! They had been building one ready for my arrival. I said I'd jump on the bike and collect it.
Just one more software package to load and it'll be ready to collect, either later today or first thing Thursday.
To cut to the chase, the machine is now at home and log-ins and passwords are all resolved. I still have questions to ask and two days to get live answers. I'm getting some good feelings about this one, quite warm and fuzzy.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments yesterday. Normally I would respond individually but I realise I was going to say the same thing to everyone. It is only because of your comments to yesterday's blip that I have taken on board the fact that in this flat I have views in two directions and that both of them include more plant-life than building.
Finding my new happy :-)

Main: In 1871, Bedford Architect, John Usher (1822 – 1904) designed this building for Henry Adkin, gunmaker.

Extra: There's a black cat who likes to sit beside my cycle route. It's larger than most, I hope to get to know it a little better, though that is probably unlikely. Today is not the first time I've seen it owning this stretch of path.
