Well I never!

The brain-crunching I've been going through today trying to get to grips with the new job! I logged on before 8am, which is my official start time, and began exploring the file servers to see if I could find what I needed to learn the job. I was already exhausted by 9:15. My mentor and I agreed to have another face-to-face at 11 and I confessed I was going to have a nap.
We had another hour together online and then I carried on alone trying to get to grips with it. A few little questions here and there swiftly and helpfully answered and by mid afternoon I was beginning to make progress. I stuck with it until 5pm, official clock-off time and although I'd ripped up my work and started all over again once or twice, I now know what I'm going to do between 8 and 11 tomorrow, ready for my first critique. As long as I've got the gist of it I can build from there, and as long as I can test negative by Monday I'll have other people's shoulders to tap for help. I am assured that the team is exactly that.
So then I went for a walk to rest my brain and stretch my eyes whereupon I spotted these. I have never in my life seen fir cones like these. They look like they've been created by Farrow & Ball.
