A Bit of an Unusual...

....blip. But it's the only photo I have today and it wasn't even taken by me, but by my friend Lisa (on the left, with long arms). This is our team of golfers. We must be smiling because we were delirious from the heat! We played in our member guest tournament today, organized by none other than yours truly and friend Lisa, who are co-incoming presidents of the ladies league.

It was darned hot - somewhere around 98F/36.6C and certainly too hot to be doing anything other than being submerged in cool water. But what were we to do? We'd signed up ages ago and it took a lot of organization, and besides which, it's not supposed to be this hot in western Oregon! 

The 84 women who played today were all great sports. We used mister bottles and cool neck cloths to try to cool down, with plenty of hydration. It was followed by a lovely lunch (see extra) at one of the women's houses. The bags are hand painted by one of the golfers and filled with a ball marker, tee towel and a fun little pot with seeds. The theme of the tournament was none other than "Garden Party" (whose idea was that???) Everyone seemed to have a grand time, despite the heat, and we all went home and took cold baths and will now rest.
