Checking the sunflower

How I wish that I'd kept a photographic record of this sunflower, brought home by Violet from Brownies some weeks ago.  When it first arrived it was just a tiny seedling in a disposable teacup and now it's nearly Violet's height with a large flowerhead not far from bursting into bloom!
We do have sticks which show the height at various intervals, during which time it has had to be repotted several times.
In other news:  BT Openreach were back this morning, bright and early ready to start putting in more telegraph poles.  They only managed one (and that was on a site designated for council tree planting)  because, rather strangely, there were rather a lot of cars parked in the road...
