The River Nith

We were down in Dumfries today on an away day with the Ceilidh Club. Had very nice weather, which was a big surprise, as the forecast didn't look too promising.

Dumfries is on the River Nith, which flows out to sea at the Solway Firth. A very pleasant market town. My photo is of the old bridge and the weir.

We had a quick lunch when we arrived, then headed for a walk along the river, over the golf course, and back into town. We were then taken to a social club on the outskirts of town where we had some dancing and a very nice meal. It's hard work enjoying yourself, I am exhausted!!!
