The Coorong Day 2
All I can say is today was spectacular. We woke to a glorious day and to the sound of dozens of little birds in the habitat close to our van. There wasn’t a moment to waste. The highlight of the morning was when Mauzee spotted an Emu casually walking across from one side of the lagoon to the other. We saw birdlife in biblical proportions today and it has been a case of draw an image out of the hat to post for my blip tonight. I decided on these magnificent graceful swans who passed by as we were sitting having our lunch on the edge of the water. The Coorong is without a doubt one of Australia’s treasures and we will probably drive this way home for another dose of bird heaven.
We’re camped at Narrung tonight and will catch the car ferry in the morning as we head towards Adelaide and then on to Western Australia. It’s been a bonus having these few days to have shorter drives and exquisite scenery and wildlife. We’re both feeling very relaxed and can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
