Over Belfast at 35,000 feet
Nearly home after leaving San Diego at 20.35 thier time, 04.35 UK time. Great news at the airport. I wasn't able to check in on line and when we got to the desk we were informed that our cabin, the premium economy, had been overbooked by 7 and we were in line for an upgrade to business!
And so it turned out to be - we were upgraded for free and travelled back in the style we had become accustomed to on our way out. More champagne, gourmet meals and lovely service and a reasonable sleep on the lie flat beds. Thank you BA.
I'd been trying all week to get an upgrade through Avios (Airmiles) only to be told that the airline had not decided whether to release any further seats. So in the end we got the upgrade without spending our Avios.
Unfortunately we did not have a window seat and I had few opportunities to take photographs. This shot, over Belfast, was taken using the Ariel View function on the scene mode on the one chance I had at getting to the very small window on the exit door.
It was a great flight and we were quickly off the plane, through customs, met by the taxi and home in Maidstone in about 2 hours after touching down.
Back to more mundane shots for a few weeks!
