Nantasket Street, Mission Beach, San Diego
Our last day in San Diego so before flying home in the evening. After doing most of the packing we decided to come down to the ocean front for a last visit. We walked along Pacific Beach to Ocean Beach then cut across the street, Nantasket Street to get to Mission Bay on the other side.
There are lots of these very narrow streets connecting the beach to the bay forming a transition between the brasher seafront and the quieter, calmer and gentile bayside.
I liked this view because of the lovely colours of the houses and the wonderful textures and shapes provided by the plants.
Earlier, we'd had lunch at Kono's, a beachside cafe adjacent to Pacific Bearch pier. Kono's is a surf cafe and ranked No 1 in places to eat in San Diego.
After walking back along bayside it was back to La Jolla to finish packing, walk, walk Babe for one last time and depart for the airport for the long flight back to the UK. It could be 18 months before we're back here again. Too long to wait.
