Chimnea

"What time does your flight back land?"
"About three. And then I'll get a train back to Salford."
"OK!"

The two letters missing from the above exchange are 'a' and 'm'.

Anyway, the lack of trains from Manchester Airport at that time in the morning, the fact that Abi was feeling fluey*, the consequence of her not accounting for the time difference, plus an early arrival, all conspired to find me at Terminal 2 Arrivals at two o'clock, this morning.

She slept until midday, slept in the car all the way back up to Kirkby Lonsdale, and then went to bed for the rest of the day. Which left me to my own devices: a bit of work in the afternoon, and then some music in the early evening, before I went down onto the deck and lit the chimnea.

*We tested as soon as she got home; it wasn't Covid.
