Exploring the Lighthouse

We've had a lovely family day out today. We went out to the Lighthouse at Awhitu, an area of Auckland that we haven't spent much time in. The Husband hadn't been there before and was surprised at the drama of the scenery out there.

We had a picnic lunch while being blown off the top of the hill. The sun was out, so it was warm enough.

After the Lighthouse we went and scouted out a future camping spot at Awhitu Regional Park. What a lovely spot that is! The beach there was empty and it had lovely white sand there. Definitely one for next camping season.
