Hanging on

It looks like a small caterpillar clamped onto a blackcurrant, luckily spotted and saved, (not frozen/eaten). This lot of blackcurrants are big, they look like small gooseberries, when zooming in the image is enlarged, it is not this big. Good or bad we saved it by returning to the blackcurrant bushes. A very good crop again with plenty for the blackbirds as well.

(When dropping off a bowlful to a local restaurant he later thanked me for the gooseberries, I did reply with ‘blackcurrants’)
