Peninsula

A day of wandering slowly around the Western end of the Dingle Peninsula, starting at the beach at Ceann Stra where I enjoyed the colourful strands of weed on the beach, a number of different jellyfish and some flax in the dunes. We then joined the fairly heavy traffic heading around Ceann Sleibhe, with great views across to the Blasket Islands. The tiny harbour at Dun Chaoin is the embarkation point for trips to the islands. There were plenty of people there but few seemed to be heading across.

Later we wandered from our accommodation down to the nearby beach An Scoth, where there was a fine crop of lichen on the rocks.
