Frieda's birthday party

I'm back-blipping... Ruth, Josh, Eben and Luca stayed overnight on Friday,  so that R and J could go to the 'end of term' celebrations for the students and staff who take part in courses at the High Riggs farm. Saturday afternoon brought Frieda's birthday party. She'll be three on Monday.

We've had lovely times, though also intensely busy.

Someone gave Frieda a fabulous water pistol for her birthday, supplied by a little back pack tank: here it is in the main image, with F and her 'Zog' cake in the extra. Everyone had a ball, both adults and children. Jack and Marianna had organised the house and garden really well, with a good spread of toys inside and outside, a paddling pool and quiet spaces indoors for those who just wanted to cool off.  We were lucky that the weather was fine and sunny, but hadn't yet reached the peaks forecast for Monday and Tuesday.

We'll pop round to Jack and Marianna's on Monday just to say 'happy birthday' and enjoy a bit of quiet time together. She'll probably stay off nursery that day, as part of collective efforts to cope with the heatwave.
