How come we’ve never been before
Today we decided to visit Yorkshire Lavender, so up early to walk the doggies and off we went.
We park up and pay our money and then enter the beautiful gardens, every where we turn we see plants new to us and plants that are firm favourites, we walk through the lavender borders and admire the towering scabious and verbena, we take in the heady smells of rosemary, fennel and thyme, we are surrounded by bees and butterflies.
We leave the garden and walk down the hill to the pond where we spot the dragon flies darting about ( way too fast to get a decent shot) suddenly one flies towards me and lands on a lily pad and I think it starts to lay its eggs, I capture the sun on it’s beautiful wings.
Leaving the pond we carry on up the slope to admire the sculptures as we approach we realise it is a cricket match.
Time for refreshments in the cafe followed by a visit to the plants for sale area, came away with two lovely agapanthus.future blips.
We finished our lovely day with dinner on the deck, still sitting outdoors at 10.30 with a Baileys and ice
