The Cleanup Begins….

A lovely bright sunny early sky…,Maisie and I managed to get into the Pony Club grounds and head upstream to the Burleigh Bridge early this morning. The flood waters have left their mark with debris galore scattered over the grass and a “High Water Mark” close to the western stopbanks. Council Contractors had assembled near one of the footbridges near Purkiss Street. They were about to start a massive cleanup along the river berms and environs. The stopbanks had held and in fact, saved the town from flooding.
