A grand day out
Enjoyed a day in Newcastle with my lovely daughter, Lucy. She's been 'long-listed' for an art prize, and the most convenient pick-up point for entries was a van (travelling down the country, taking entries to London) near The Biscuit Factory. First things first - a coffee at the Garage Cafe. Once Lucy's piece had been safely stowed in the van, we spent a very pleasant hour or so looking round the gallery. Some amazing artwork and ceramics, books, and a cafe - if I had a fortune, I could have happily spent a large chunk of it there!
On leaving the gallery we wandered in to the centre of town, walked across the Millennium Bridge (because we could!), lingered over a very nice lunch, and looked round a few shops. On the way to the station, a brief visit to the Laing Art Gallery for a coffee and a quick browse. All too soon time to catch the train home - Lucy waved me off before getting on her train back to Leeds.
MrM met me in Alnmouth and we had a trip to Amble before heading home.
