Cutie Patootie

Mr. Fox arrived this morning to see if there were any peanuts lying around, but only found a handful. Then, as it happened, The Husband opened the door and they noticed each other. Mr. Fox retreated to the magnolia tree that's only a few feet away from the peanut place and lay down. Waiting, it seemed, for The Husband to tell me that he was waiting for some peanuts. So I went out with them - and he backed away another few feet while I put them down. But then he was back as soon as my back was turned and happily snarfing down breakfast.
