Bones Of Contention

The last few days have been increasingly hot (heading towards, and sometimes exceeding, 30c) and I find it a bit of a struggle. After his tough week at work my brother said last night that he fancied heading for the coast but I admit I didn't really crave a four hour round trip, being stuck in endless queues of traffic (the traffic is always terrible on routes to the coast on the weekend at this time of the year), spending half the day looking for a car parking space and then eventually getting to spend only a couple of hours on a very crowded beach before heading home again. Much as I love the coast I think I actually prefer it in Spring, Autumn and even Winter when there isn't hordes of people.
My brother had a lie in this morning and thankfully said he didn't really fancy the journey in the hot weather either. So we settled on an early pint at The Fields and a few glasses of wine in the back garden reading our books in the shade. He did agree this was much more relaxing!
Today's shot of a car sunshade was taken on another local photographic safari - it perfectly represents how we would have felt if we had undertaken our coastal road trip in the heat! :-)
