It's the weekend!!

Strange to think it's a week since mum and dad were here! And this weekend it's the complete opposite - my house is empty! Everyone is away home, so another chance to find out if I can cope with the weekends in the summer when there is no one here! :(

Took this photo of The Discovery ship whilst on route to my first work night out! The lighting isn't the best, but I felt drawn to it as lately I've been thinking a lot about ships and sailing and the lost chances/opportunities that they are often associated with as a metaphor. For me there have been a few missed opportunities lately! A number of ships have sailed without me on them! But a ship has to return to port eventually so for now I will just wait until it's ready to come back for me...

First stop on the work night out was Papa Joes for food. Having experienced the amazingness of Spanish Chicken back home as cooked by the lovely Caroline Nethery, this one had high expectations to meet. It failed. Miserably! It was nothing in comparison to Caroline's version of the dish! So a big disappointment! The bruschetta starter was lovely and I eyed up the Oreo cookie dessert for a good 10 minutes before deciding that it would have probably pushed me to my limits and I wouldn't have been able to do it justice! haha! But it looked soooo good! :)

Fed and watered, so began a mini pub crawl up the Perth Road but we talked so much in each place that we only got as far as the DCA before midnight and everywhere closed! It was nice to spend some time with my work colleagues outside of a working environment and just have a fun evening!

Lie in tomorrow me thinks!! Nothing better to do! :)
