Diary of an Edinburgher

Hot walk!

Another summery day! ‘Twas very hot sitting out in the front garden this morning but it clouded over in the afternoon, though still hot. But we’re not as hot as the rest of the country, thankfully.

Hazel and another neighbour popped in for a chat. G was keen to hear about our NC500 Road Trip.

I went with Archie and JR for a walk in the Hermitage, which is the best place in hot weather - a river where Archie can get a drink, and plenty of shade for us. I drove down to meet them at the duck pond - it’s really that long walk back up the hill after a walk in the woods, that’s the killer for me.

We did a circuit, and it was only 5,935 steps, so quite do-able for me, though I did struggle, with lots of sit downs. Archie was very slow too, plodding along for lots of the walk. He had a couple of paddles in the river, but when I found a tennis ball in the grass right at the end of the walk, he found the energy to go charging around chasing it.

I’ve found the Jeremy Clarkson programme on the PQ17: The Arctic Convoy disaster, but it won’t play, for some reason. It’s on Apple TV, and I got a free week when I bought a new phone, and I haven’t used it yet. I’ll keep trying.
