Sparrows

Yesterday at Bowber Head I picked up a leaflet about Tree Sparrows describing ways in which the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority is trying to support the Tree Sparrow, as it is in quite severe decline. Although they are not generally found near buildings, we are certain that we have some in the hedgerows around our garden. This morning I tried to spot one, but failed.

I did see lots and lots of House Sparrows. There is apparently some concern about declining numbers of these, but that is certainly not the case in our garden - we have many and there are more new ones all the time. Here is a little gang of young ones.
