Seeing things

By Miralgato

En Patufet.

The most popular of Catalan folktales. Patufet is a wee lad, the size of a grain of rice, who wears a red barretina (Catalan cap) so that his parents can better spot him. To avoid being stepped on he sings as he walks along:

Patim, patam, patum,
Homes i dones del cap dret
Patim, patam patum,
No trapitgeu en Patufet

(Patim, patam, patum, men and women who walk towards me, patim, patam, patum, don't tread on Patufet). It doesn't quite rhyme in English!

This little fellow is having a snooze under a cabbage around the corner from work.
