Eric Ravilious.

Went to see a film about him - Eric Ravilious - Drawn to War today at the Towner Art Gallery in Eastbourne. He's not as well known outside Sussex as he should be - more here.  I'd seen some of his work in the art gallery, but wasn't aware of his stunning wartime work. He risked his life many times to get his drawings and paintings and died in a plane crash in Iceland in 1942, aged 39, leaving a sick wife and 3 children.
