Freshwater East
We made an unplanned overnight stop in chalet in Freshwater East today, booked just this morning on Airbnb. There were two reasons for departing the Shepherd's Hut early. The sofa bed was unfortunately not very comfortable and it made sense weather-wise to do the long North to South Wales drive today in the drizzle so we could make the most of the sunshine on Thursday down in Pembrokeshire.
It was a three and half hour drive and non of it on motorway so Orla and Conor got a bit bored (on motorways they can watch stuff downloaded onto their iPads). We stopped for a picnic lunch in Aberystwyth with a long walk along the seafront with a refreshing sea-breeze there before the second leg.
In the evening we went walk along the beach at Freshwater East and at the far end there was something superb rock formations to explore and Mum gave Orla another geology lesson.
