No 25, Austerity Tank, Northiam
I wasn’t on duty on the railway today, only there for a meeting of the Environmental and Sustainability Working Group to continue to progress our work on creating a sustainable railway.
Today we focused on learning about the Plastic Free Tenterden initiative being implemented by the Tenterden Civic Society. Plastic Free is a National initiative coming from the Surfers against Sewage campaign. We’re wanting to work with businesses and groups to contribute to this ambition. https://plasticfree.org.uk/community/tenterden/
This afternoon we took Doreen on a tour of the Medway Towns where she grew up in the 1930s and 40s. She’s been wanting to visit her old haunts for some time so it was good to be able to drive the streets of her younger years. All rounded off with tea and scones at Dobbies.
