Early start to get Phin walked and off to daycare before packing to head up to Aberdeen. Miss PHL arrived as we were finishing packing and we headed off to our son’s house for a bite of lunch and to pick them up.

Wee bit of a squash in the car but we arrived just after 3. After the issues with our original booking I was pleased that our rooms were reserved and ready in the replacement hotel. They were clean and comfortable except for the pillows which were lumpy.

We left Miss PHL getting ready to go out with her friends for dinner and the four of us headed into town looking for somewhere to have coffee and cake to tide us over till dinner time.

We decided not to take an umbrella and within 10 minutes the heavens opened and we were drenched. I spotted this lovely display and thought our predicament was just the job for SillySaturday. Thanks to davidc for hosting.

Found ourselves at Union square and Patisserie Valerie was right there so we enjoyed a drink and a sticky cake. Mr PHL headed back to sort the car parking out and the three of us did a bit of shopping before joining him at the hotel.

Pre dinner drinks I were entertaining due to the varied clientele. I do love people watching! We met a good friend of ours for dinner at the Riyal Thai. Amazing food, good chat and a couple of glasses of wine helped the time tuck away quickly. Before I knew it, it was after 11 and we headed back to the hotel where I was so focused on getting a good sleep before graduation on Sunday that I forgot to blip (again!).
