Well .... !

I made the wee bowl this morning and wondered if I should make a lid of it.
I was looking around for a suitable bit of wood and came across the lid I had made for something else (which destroyed itself during making) ... it fitted like a glove!
That will do.

I sat down to watch the Grand Prix this afternoon - what an event that turned out to be.

It was an amazing demonstration of how strong a modern racing car is when the start turned into a game of bagatelle with one of then flipping over, sliding off the track and summersaulting over the barrier and ending up with its driver requiring to be extricated by trackside staff and having not a mark on him.

My faith in human nature was restored when one of the other drivers (who only had a puncture and was perfectly capable of getting back to the pits in order to be in the re-start) stopped, got out of his car and ran over  to help and thereby being excluded from the rest of the race.
Meanwhile, there were a group of  'anti fuel' arseholes demonstrators ran onto the track and sat down. Luckily they were dragged away before any cars came round or there would have been deaths.
Despite all this the ending was just as thrilling as the start.
