Ready, steady, varnish

So I've put the Ikea cabinet together, and bought extra wood, fixed it to the base to raise the unit, letting the doors open easily.

So now it's a race against the cats to get the unit varnished. By which I mean a race to get the varnish on, before said cats scratch/mark/get mucky prints all over the clean pale wood. Not to mention the tiny black hairs they cast everywhere and you can't see until you start varnishing...

Anyway, two coats done last night, slapdash but done. Final sand and coat when I can muster patience and time!
