Whitefish Dunes State Park

We've got beaches that boast sand dunes along the eastern coast of Door County and I've never been to any of them, so today we stopped & I was so disappointed. I (naively) expected actual sand dunes on the beach, when in reality the sand "dunes" are the hills you see in the photo along the back of the beach, most of them completely covered in vegetation. Live and learn. It was a gorgeous day, though, to walk along the beach. When you look at the people furthest back in the photo it looks like they're in a mini sandstorm, but it actually was fog drifting in wisps off the lake. There were some kayaks out as well, so I included another photo in the extras. :)
