Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Memories...

Four years + of postcards from India. I started when Eilidh was quite young, sending a card every second day, when Isobel came along they became daily and sent to each girl alternately. They enjoyed seeing whether the cards came in order (i dated and numbered them) and sometimes three or four would come at once! They've kept them all and get them out regularly to look at them, play games and to read my(dreadful) writing. Hopefully there will be some more next year.
The thumbnail is Lord Krishna's butterball an enormous naturally occurring round balanced rock at Mahabalapuram, an amazing place on the coast south of Chennai.
Today Ali and I went down to Craigleith I hadn't realised that the Sainsbury cafe had closed, I was very disappointed. In the days BC, we used to visit it quite regularly. The sign said it was closed permanently so I wonder what they'll use the upper floor for.
I had Eilidh and Isobel this afternoon, both were very tired but happy and glad to be on holiday for the summer, lots of plans.
Josie is at my house this evening with her first non family baby sitter as a practice for two weeks from now when we have her baptism followed by Ali and Stuart's delayed wedding reception. They've been married for 15 months now, the original date was in 2020.
I went out to Kathryn's for tea we had a slightly disappointing Thai take away. We left the baby sitter at our house with Isobel which is where she will bring her on the wedding day. She's a nursery nurse who worked with both Eilidh and Isobel and has done occasional baby sitting for them too. All went well, I'm back home now and Josie is sleeping soundly. A relief for Ali I'm sure.
